Future-mindedness on homeless and beggars undergoing rehabilitation

Homelessness and beggary are social problems, particularly for urban community. The Indonesian government has long used rehab centers to train vagrants beggars be fully functioning members of society. Future-mindedness is one the life-attitudes that homeless learn adopt. Using case study approach, this qualitative psychological research explores future-mindedness among undergoing programs. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with four participants two their significant others. thematic analysis conducted on interview data produced three key findings: a) circumstances had helped bring about vagrancy; b) ways learned plan lives; c) factors enabled them think future. This concludes employment, place residence, family life formed center these people’s future plans. Rehab programs—if they succeed—must take into account both personal context environment in which have lived lives learning re-think futures.
